The city's recreational foundation is the historic Memorial Park. With 13 acres of green space, the park has playground equipment, a basketball court with adjustable rims, disc golf (added in 2017), a sand volleyball court, open-air shelterhouses and a beautiful, all-season modern enclosed shelterhouse. The large park even features a connector trail that joins the Sauk Rail Trail.

Memorial Park is the center of activity in the summer as crowds gather nightly to take in ball games on its two baseball diamonds – one of which features a unique and historic covered grandstand. The large baseball stadium was built in 1947 and is believed to be one of the few remaining wooden covered grandstands in the Midwest. The stadium was once home to a semi-pro team, the Breda Eagles, in the 1940's. The grandstand features beautiful historic ballpark architecture and has been kept in fantastic condition. A seasonal concession stand and modern restrooms are also available next to the field.
